Painting and Printing on Canvas with the Toddler Art Group

Painting and Printing on Canvas

We did a mix of printing and painting with the art group yesterday. It was a small group this time as several families were sick. We tried a few of the items you recommended in your comments to my post about printing with sponges and paper plates, including cars, crinkled tin foil, a cork, and a potato masher.

Molly also brought some shape stampers, a ball with holes in it, and a tractor (which was the hit of the morning).

We started out painting and printing on canvas and moved on to paper when everyone had finished their canvas. We especially liked the prints the tractor tires made as well as the potato masher and crinkled foil.

and Maia's painting.

All completely different!

we missed being w/you all this wk! we painted on our canvases this morning and had a BLAST! i think i had just as much fun as they did hunting around in their toys and in the kitchen for fun art implements. and then of course watching their little concentrated and paint-splattered faces. thx for all the great ideas!
