Birthday banner for a new baby

Okay, this is basically just show-and-tell, but here's a simple birthday banner I sewed for my new niece (and the reason Maia wanted to make the banner I posted about yesterday). I made it much the way I made Maia's birthday banner, with freezer paper stenciled letters. You can't tell from this photo, but the fabric is a pretty white on white design. I figured this could be used for future birthdays as well as to welcome the new baby.

I'm a little out of it this week, which is not so good. All I want to do is curl up with a good book and a hot drink. Which is not going to happen (at least not for the nice long stretches that I'd like) so I need to go run laps around the house or something to get my blood pumping.

What a great baby gift! Hope you are feeling better soon. If you are looking for some quick but interesting reads, try: “Nurture Shock” (very good parenting read that you can pick up in chunks of time), “Tender at the Bone” (Ruth Reichel…food, humor, autobiography), “The Evolution of Calpernia Tate” (young adult lit).
