eeBoo Tell Me a Story Cards How do we get through sick days? Lots of stories; lots of games. And now eeBoo Tell Me a Story Cards, which combine the two beautifully.

We have been a house full of sick people. Not too fun. But Maia’s back in school today and I’m starting to feel like a normal person again.

Daphne was the first to get sick, which means that I still had the energy to carry her in the sling, which is what she seems to need when she’s sick. By the time Daphne was better, Maia was sick and then me.

Maia slept through her first, feverish day of illness, but after that she wanted to play games, read books, do puzzles, and watch movies — all of our traditional sick-kid activities. We usually cover the sofa with a sheet, bring out a pillow and blanket, pull up a chair or table for tea, kleenex, etc and make the sofa our sick-kid headquarters.

Storytelling with eeBoo Tell Me a Story Cards

We spent a lot of time telling silly, rambling stories together using these eeBoo Tell Me a Story cards. Aren’t the cards beautiful? They’re illustrated by Melissa Sweet, just like our counting bird wall cards. There are a few ways to tell the stories, according to the instructions, but we chose the back and forth version that had us each continuing the story where the other left off, using the cards as visual prompts.

This set is called Mystery in the Forest, but there are a few other versions as well. I want them all now! They are so fun. Also, just an aside—I thought they’d be regular card size, but they’re actually larger (3 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches) which I like.
