Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from The Artful Parent!

Hello, my friends. And happy, happy New Year!

I'm an optimist and believe in new beginnings and the fresh start that a new year implies. Always, always.

Even when the past year has been, shall we say, complicated.

The results are not always quite what I would like, but who am I to question fate, God, the stars?

I do my bit. I try to steer in the direction I'd like to go. And I have to trust that the rest will be taken care of. That it's all for the greater good and, you know, character building.

I am making my vision board, as I have now for years and years. Even though looking at one at the end of the year can sometimes be half laughable, half painful. If I look at one from a few years ago, though, I can be bowled over by how much has come true.

For real.

Like the one that was all about writing a book, back when writing even a magazine article wasn't remotely on the horizon. It's a little spooky actually. But in a good way.

I'm not one to tell people what to do* but give it a try.

xo,

Jean

* Unless it involves kids' art or seriously awesome art materials, then I suppose I can be pretty bossy.
