We went to the Arboretum today to walk around in what's left of our recent snowfall. We haven't been in a while and were surprised to see the quilt garden covered in a piece of sculptural installation art rather than the usual plants and flowers! The "petals" and cylinders are made of nylon stretched over wire frames. We had fun walking through it, climbing (carefully) into the blue cylinders, and observing the shadows the pieces created in the snow.
There was also some snowman making, snow-stomping, gong-ringing, and the usual collecting of various nature items–7 large seed pods from a locust tree, 2 dried hydrangea flower heads, and 1 ladybug (found in the arboretum building and talked to animatedly during the entire drive home).
Fun times! I hope you're having a lovely weekend as well!
