The Artful Year :: Celebrating the Seasons and Holidays with Arts and Crafts
A four part eBook series:
In our home, we celebrate the seasons and holidays through art, crafts, and cooking together.
We mix the familiar (gingerbread cookies) with the unique and creative (stained glass garlands) and we’re always trying out new ideas and combinations.
Celebrating the seasons and holidays is a traditional way to embrace creativity together as a family, and the reverse is true as well: engaging in arts and crafts as a family is a fun way of decorating, preparing for, and learning about the holidays we celebrate.
So instead of buying all of our decorations and materials, we prefer to take the time to make our holidays more enjoyable and meaningful by doing at least some of it ourselves.
Memories and mementos, creative growth in our children and ourselves, stronger family bonds, and lots of fun!
In The Artful Year: Celebrating the Seasons & Holidays with Family Arts and Crafts, I share my ideas for simple, family-friendly crafting through the seasons and holidays, with one book for each season.
Here’s what you’ll find in each of the four books:
- ARTS and CRAFTS, using the materials, colors, and themes of the season
- DECORATIONS to make as a family
- Favorite SEASONAL RECIPES that are fun for children to help make (and eat)
- IDEAS FOR CELEBRATING the holidays together
- CHILDREN’S PICTURE BOOKS about the seasons and holidays
Please join me in crafting and celebrating around the year!

NOTE: After July 31st, The Artful Year eBooks will no longer be available for sale. The traditionally published paper book version will be available in February 2015. There will be lots of wonderful new additions at that time, however, due to size and expense and just the general nature of publishing, there will be some subtractions as well—most notably in the number of photographs. If you want a digital copy to refer to between now and then (I especially love having the recipes on my iPad) or want the full complement of step-by-step photographs, grab the eBooks now while they are still available.
