The Artful Parent blog is owned by Activity Book Ltd.

The Artful Parent blog accepts forms of cash advertising, sponsorship, paid insertions or other forms of compensation.

The compensation received may occasionally influence the content selected to publish and the timing of that post. That content, advertising space or post will be identified as such within the guidelines of the FTC disclosure rules.

Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

IP Address

Our web service may automatically collect the standard details of your browser and operating system, the website from which you visit our website, the pages that you browse on our website, and the date of your visit. For security reasons (to identify attacks on our website) the Internet protocol (IP) address that is assigned to you by your internet service is also collected when you load The Artful Parent site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Who we share your data with

Email

We only collect your email if you voluntarily provide it to us. This may occur, for example, if you sign up to receive an email newsletter or opt-in to a free printable or e-course.  We will use your email address for the purposes for which you provided it to us and also from time to time to send you emails regarding the The Artful Parent.  You may opt out of such email communications at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” button on the bottom of every email.

We collect this data through two separate platforms, LeadPages and ConvertKit. You can read the LeadPages privacy policy here (applicable section is under “Customer Data”) and the ConvertKit privacy policy here (section 6).

We will not share your email address with any third parties.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if you have purchased something from The Artful Parent store, for example), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
