We’re leaning into all things rainbows these days, as a way to combat the grays and browns of late winter. These sweet tissue paper rainbows were so easy to make and look lovely hanging on our wall.
The bright colors instantly lift our spirits, bringing a little hint of spring indoors. Plus, it was the perfect hands-on craft to keep everyone busy on a chilly afternoon!

How to Make a Tissue Paper Rainbow
MATERIALS
- Cardboard, cardstock, or poster board
- Tissue paper squares
- Glue sticks
- Scissors
INSTRUCTIONS
- Cut your rainbow
Cut a rainbow out of your cardboard, cardstock, or poster board. If you need to, cut your tissue paper into little squares. Or you can simply tear pieces of tissue paper, too.
- Add your colors
Use a glue stick to attach the tissue paper squares to your rainbow.
We worked color by color starting with red.
- Display!
When your glue is dry, hang your rainbow somewhere special!
That’s all there is to it! This is a fun and very simple craft for kids of all ages. Even the youngest artists can join in the fun with this one.
