Artful Ideas Around the Web

It's been a bit of a crazy week here — a sick kid, a toddler who has molars coming in on the top AND bottom, and a writing deadline. Boy am I looking forward to the weekend! The weather is gorgeous and I'd like head outside and enjoy it with my family (maybe sneak in a hike!) before we get another cold spell.

First though, here's a quick post to share some of my favorite artful ideas that I've come across recently.

Have you seen Google's Art Project? Chalk in My Pocket has a great post about this seriously awesome virtual tour of the world's great art museums and artworks. Check it out!

I LOVE the sunny yellow frames that Christie at Childhood 101 painted to display her daughter's art! She also has the adjustable Ikea table in her art space that I'm planning to get for our studio as soon as I make the trek to our nearest Ikea (3 hours away).

Rachelle has a post at TinkerLab about excavating animal figures from jello that I think would be a super fun sensory experience for toddlers and preschoolers. And she has another post about defrosting animals frozen in cubes of water.

Enjoy! I hope you have a great weekend!

I’m sorry to hear about the crazies, and hope your weekend brings sunshine and relaxation to all of you. Thanks so much for sharing links to the Jello and Ice posts — they are both toddler-approved!
