Looking for fun Easter egg ideas for decorating eggs with kids?

Decorating eggs is something that we like to do in the month leading up to Easter. We have been known to go a bit crazy with our Easter eggs, in fact. But I just love the miniature 3-dimensional canvas that eggs provide.

Sometimes we blow out our Easter eggs first, sometimes we decorate wooden eggs, and sometimes we just use regular hard-boiled eggs even though it’s early (we don’t eat them).

Here are 11 Easter egg decorating ideas for kids that we’ve loved, plus a few extra we’d like to try.

As a kid we are see to colour our Easter eggs using food due and candle wax. First we’d dye the first colour (say yellow). Then we’d drip hot candle wax onto the egg, and do the next colour (eg. Red) and repeat probably one more time. Once the egg was dried we’d then pick off all the wax and see the different colours come through.
