Learn how to make a simple but beautiful Thanksgiving table runner that doubles as a creative gratitude activity for your family.

This Thanksgiving, engage your family in a creative and meaningful activity by making a gratitude table runner. It’s a great way for them to think about what they are thankful for while decorating the table in a fun and festive way.

With simple materials like kraft paper, markers and crayons, kids can draw about their gratitude, filling the paper with colorful designs. This easy, low-mess craft adds a personal touch to your Thanksgiving meal and helps spark conversations about thankfulness.

Plus, it’s a great way to keep the kids occupied while you’re making the turkey!

MATERIALS

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Prep your runner

Start by rolling out and cutting your kraft paper to fit your table.

We find that kids often get inspired by a frame, so we traced a plate and added some simple decorations for the kids to draw inside.

Then, set out whatever drawing tools you’d like.

  2. Let your kids decorate the table

This is a classic art invitation: leave out some art supplies and let your kids do their thing!

As the kids drew, we talked about what we are thankful for, so they’d have plenty of ideas to work from.
