Spiders and spiderwebs are an important part of the natural world all around us.
Whether you find spiders creepy or not, the spider and spiderweb imagery comes into its own at Halloween time. If nothing else, it’s a great time to learn more about spiders!
Here are some awesome spiderweb crafts, art activities, and play ideas to make and enjoy this Halloween.
The Best Spiderweb Crafts and Activities for Kids
1. Cut spiderwebs out of coffee filters
These are our favorite DIY Halloween decoration. Spiderwebs are so easy to make with coffee filters and just a tad spooky!
2. Make glue resist spiderweb art
This art project combines squeezing out spiderweb designs with glue and then painting over them with watercolors! Perfect for Halloween!
3. Try marble rolling to make painted spiderwebs
We love marble rolling and think it’s perfect for this Halloween spin. Try making spiderwebs using only a marble and some paint!
4. Make black glue spiderwebs
Similar to the glue resist spiderwebs, but this time dye your glue with black paint! Then paint between the black lines with watercolors to make spooky stained glass.
5. Styrofoam printed spiderwebs (on TinkerLab)
Carve a spiderweb into a piece of styrofoam and then print a series of webs!
6. Try some raised salt painting spiderwebs
This is one of our favorite Artful Parent art activities and it is perfect for creating colorful, raised spiderwebs!
7. Crayon resist spiderwebs (by The Artful Parent for Let’s Lasso the Moon)
Draw a spiderweb in white crayon, paint over with watercolors and watch the spiderweb magically appear!
8. Spiderweb scratch art
Try making spiderwebs with this simple DIY scratch art method using oil pastels, black paint, paper plates and toothpicks!
9. Try making a spider with playdough
Pipe cleaners are perfect for creating creepy Halloween spider legs! And don’t forget lots of googly eyes!
10. Try some sensory play and throw in some spiders
