calendar cover

My mom saved a bunch of our artwork from when we were little and made a calendar as a Christmas gift in 2006. My crayon drawing of a zebra and girl from age 5 is on the cover.

This was definitely the best Christmas gift of the year!

How fun. I wish my parents had saved some of our artwork. I would also be inclined to ask your mom what she did to nurture you and your siblings art, because those look (from what I know) to be quite good for those ages.

Me in a rainbow? So wonderful! My mom kept a bunch of my art and my DH has a self-portrait I drew in first grade up in his office…it’s of me scowling. I distinctly remember not wanting mine to look just like everyone else’s and thinking it was kind of funny. Everyone always thinks it’s our daughter’s (smile).

    What a fabulous gift! I’m so jealous. : )
But, I think this is a great idea for this year’s Christmas gifts. I’ll just scan their art as they make them into one file and then in November I can create calendars for next year. Great way to save the art as well as pass it on for long-distance relatives to see and cherish. Plus, I don’t have to keep it all just stored and never to be looked at again for years.
    Thanks for sharing this.
