Hello, my friends!
I’m getting so excited about this online course & community that I’m offering again this winter, January 16th through March 24th!
We had about 500 take the course over the past summer, which was amazing.
This FAQ is in response to the e-mails and questions I received before running the course.
I thought I’d answer some of the more frequent ones here (since we all know that if someone raises their hand with a question, lots of other people have the same question, right?) and also add them to the FAQs on the course site.
So here goes…
Artful Parenting 101 eCourse FAQs
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for parents and caregivers who want to raise creative kids. The material is best suited for those with children ages 2 through 10.
What are the dates of the course?
Artful Parenting 101 will begin on January 16th and run through March 24th.
How much does Artful Parenting 101 cost?
This 10-week eCourse costs $97, or you can make three smaller payments of $35 each over the length of the course. Once you click to enroll, you can choose the payment option that works best for you.
I live in the UK (Australia, Switzerland, etc.). Is it ok to sign up for your course?
Yes, absolutely! That’s the beauty of an online course. :) You can take it from anywhere!
My husband and I both enjoy the artful parent and want to sign-up for the eCourse. Is there a way for both of us to take the course?
Yes! A family working together on this would be wonderful! Just create one log-in (name + password) that you can both use. And make sure to give me both of your email addresses so I can add both of you to the facebook group.
I would love to do this with my children but don’t feel creative or good at art. Is this a good program for me?
Absolutely! You don’t have to feel confident in your own artistic abilities in order to foster your children’s creativity. In fact, this course would probably be perfect for you as I think it would give you tools and strategies for encouraging art and creativity in your household (plus the confidence to do it more regularly). It might even help you with confidence about your own creativity…
I love your site & books! If one already has your books, is it still worthwhile to take the course?
If you have and use my books and my blog extensively, and don’t need help with integrating the material into your life, then you probably don’t need this course. If you would like some help in making creativity a priority, with action steps and a supportive, like-minded community, then I think you could benefit from the course, even if you have my books and read my blog. I think it mostly depends on you and how much you have incorporated art and creativity into your family’s life on your own… If you’re still not sure, fee free to sign up for the course and try it out! If it’s not for you, you can ask for a refund within the first 30 days.
I would really like to take your artful parenting 101 course, but my schedule is so full I know I won’t be able to follow all of it. Would you recommend that I sign up now, or wait for the next one?
I would sign up now, if you know you’d like to take the course! Some of the ideas and activities will be easy and quick to incorporate, if you wanted to sneak in a bit here and there during your busy time. And you can download all the course material to use any time!
How long do I have access to the course? Can see the information at a later date if something didn’t sink in?
You’ll have access throughout the course period (March 24, 2017). About a month after the course is over, I will take the materials down so I can update it for the next version. However, you can download and/or print anything from the course while it’s live and keep it to refer to again and again. In addition, you can re-take the course any time I offer it again.
Do you offer credits for The Child Associate Development Credential with your course?
I don’t offer credits for CDA at the moment. Sorry. It’s something I may look into for the future though.
Is there a certificate granted at the end of the course?
I don’t have any certificate planned at the moment, but that’s a good question. If I offered one, it would likely be a fun and informal one about artful parenting.
I am wondering if I can view the course at any time that fits my schedule or is it “live” and available on certain days and times only?
So here’s how the course will work… Each Monday, I’ll post that week’s lesson and materials on the course website and send you an email letting you know that the new lesson is up. However, once I post the new week’s materials, it will stay up throughout the course. So on week 3, you’ll still be able to see all the materials from weeks 1 and 2. Also, all the materials are available for download and printing. So you can save everything to your computer and even print them out to put in a 3 ring binder or something (and keep forever).
I am interested in your course but would be taking it as a teacher rather than a parent. Is that okay?
I’d imagine that some of the material would be relevant to you and some not so much as I am focusing on parents with this particular course. Because of your work, though, I think you would enjoy the course and find plenty of information to use with your students and to share with their families. You can always give the course a try and if you find it’s not ideal for you, you can ask for a refund (within 30 days).
When does the course start and finish?
The course starts on January 16th and ends on March 24th.
