Thank you to I See Me! Children’s Books for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions expressed are my own.
My little one, Daphne, is starting kindergarten this month.
It’s such a big milestone in the life of a child. And a time of transition.
I could go through all the cliched responses of moms everywhere—How did this happen? It was just yesterday that she had big baby cheeks and was in diapers!
—and I do, of course.
But what I want to focus on for her sake is the not the past but the present and even the future.
I want to focus on who she is now and who she is in the process of becoming.
I also find myself thinking about what I hope and dream the world holds in store for her.
I have so very many wishes for her. For both of my children.
I wish them joy. Joy in their experiences and interactions with the world.
I wish them peace of mind, within and without.
I wish them a big heart for themselves and others, to embrace the beauty, flaws, and differences around them with compassion and understanding.
I wish them the self knowledge and strength to be who they are rather than who the world tells them they should be.
I wish them a sustainable lifestyle and world.
I wish them the opportunities to follow their dreams.
I wish them the chance to see the world and experience other cultures.
I have so many wishes for my kids!
And I wish I could just wave a wand and make them all come true.
But I’m a mom, not a fairy godmother, and while I’ll do my best, I know that it won’t be that quick or easy.
For now, though, I’m giving Daphne, my rising kindergartner, a book of wishes ::
I Wish You More is one of the personalized children’s books by I See Me! Children’s Books and has her name throughout the book, paired with big wishes.
This is actually the personalized version of the New York Times bestselling book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld.
Here are some of the pages in Daphne’s copy of I Wish You More…
We wish you more ups than downs.
We wish you more hugs than ughs.
We wish you more stories than stars.
If you want to see all of the wishes and all of the pages in the book, you can preview the entire I Wish You More book on the I See Me! website here.
My favorite page is “We wish you more treasures than pockets” just because this has so been the case with both of my children, always gathering special rocks, feathers, shells, seedpods, and other treasures and filling their pockets and mine, their hands and mine.
If you’d like to give a copy of I Wish You More to a child in your life, head over to I See Me! Children’s Books and tell them who you want to order the book for. They’ll ask for the child’s name, birthday, an optional photo, and an inscription.
This book would be pretty awesome as a baby gift, too… (It’s the kind of book I would have read to my daughters over and over their first year, as much for me as for them.)
