Albert Einstein Creativity and Education Quote

It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge. -Albert Einstein

Thought I'd share one of my favorite teacher / education quotes as we near the start of the school year. Do you have any favorite teacher quotes or education quotes? If so, please share in the comments! You know how much I love quotes, and I'd like to expand my "library" of them, so to speak.

I don’t have a quote to share today, but this made me think that I have wanted to thank you for helping to awaken my own creativity. In doing art with my kids, I have realized that yes, I am actually creative, and I love making art. I used to think I wasn’t creative and I wasn’t “good” at art. Doing so many of your fun projects with my kids, I have realized that we all have creativity…mine just needed to be accessed. So, thank you for helping me to do that and for teaching me how to help my kids, too. :-)

“Earth without art is just EH”
“Art washes from the soul the dust from everyday life”
are a few favorites of mine (without the obvious one about imagination from Einstein) :)

Artist quotes I like to use when teaching art classes for kids at our art museum:
“There is no blue without yellow and without orange.” –Vincent Van Gogh
“All the good ideas I ever had came to me while I was milking a cow.” –Grant Wood
“It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.” –Pablo Picasso
“Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.” –Scott Adams
“I’m glad I haven’t found my style yet. I’d be bored to death.” –Edgar Degas
    …and one for the grownups:
“I like to do crafts. I work with glitter quite a bit. Don’t worry, I make tough stuff like daggers and skulls. The thing about glitter is, if you get it on you, be prepared to have it on you forever ’cause glitter is the herpes of craft supplies.” –comedian Demetri Martin
