I bought this Mini Masters board book set for Maia about a year ago. They are the perfect art books for toddlers and young children!
Each book by Julie Merberg and Suzanne Bober pairs art by one of the masters (Van Gogh, Degas, Monet, or Mattisse) with simple, rhythmic text.
Maia loves them, and asks to read them over and over again.
We talk about the paintings a bit, but mostly I imagine she enjoys the text. I still think it’s good for her (and me!) to see beautiful art in her books, and also to become familiar with the work by amazing artists.

The authors also have several more books in the series featuring artists such as Renoir, Picasso, Seurat, Gauguin, and Rousseau.
I really recommend these art books for toddlers and preschoolers! Babies even.

Any other good books you know of that share fine art with kids in an enjoyable way? I’d love recommendations for others…
By the way, I’ve placed holds at the library for several of the books you guys recommended in response to my post on Children’s Picture Book Illustrations.
Thank you! I’m a book addict and always love hearing about new (to me) books.
