Wicked-Inspired Valentines for Kids
MATERIALS

- Shaving cream (foam, not gel)
- Tempera paint or liquid watercolors in green and pink
- Sturdy paper
- A shallow tray
- A squeegee, scrap of cardboard, or old gift card for scraping
- Toothpicks or a skewer for swirling
- Paper towels
- Free Printable Wicked Valentines
- Candy for gifting (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Prepare your valentines
Download your free Wicked-inspired valentines and print onto sturdy cardstock. Color and cut as desired. Note: If you want to print in black and white and color the hands to resemble Glinda and Elpheba, do so before marbling!
- Set up for marbling
Spray a layer of shaving cream onto your shallow tray or baking sheet. Spread it out as evenly as possible. Add a few dots of green and pink paint onto the surface of the shaving cream.
- Create the marbled effect
Use a toothpick or a skewer to swirl the colors gently through the shaving cream. Create loops and spirals for that magical, marbled look.
Take your printed valentine and press it face-down into the marbled shaving cream. Be sure to press gently but evenly so the entire surface gets covered. - Reveal the magic!
Carefully lift the paper off the shaving cream and place it face-up on a flat surface. Use your squeegee or gift card to scrape off the excess shaving cream, revealing the stunning marbled design beneath!
- Add the finishing touches
After your valentines have dried completely, feel free to add any additional embellishments you’d like. My daughter signed her name and taped a foil-wrapped chocolate heart to each card.
Kids could add extra decorations like glitter or stickers to personalize their valentines even more!
This project isn’t just fun—it’s sensory and magical! Kids will love swirling the colors, seeing the patterns appear, and knowing they’ve created something truly one-of-a-kind.
