I have a super fun post waiting for you over at my friend Zina’s site, Let’s Lasso the Moon.
It’s about water balloon painting in the swimming pool!
Sounds a bit far fetched perhaps?
It actually works really well! And it was oh, so exciting for the kids.
We’ve been having lots of fun with water balloons and swimming pools now that summer is here. And, of course, we’re creating.
One day, I thought it would be fun to combine the three…
water balloons + art + the swimming pool
And roll them around the way we did with the balls.
It was great! Better than the balls actually because instead of bouncing lightly across the surface of the paper (as rubber balls tend to do), the weight and squishiness of the water balloons helped them maintain contact with the paper as they rolled around transferring their paint to the paper.
The delight of the kids who were painting with the water balloons was pretty awesome! And the completed abstract artwork is now hanging on my office wall.
So go read my post on how to do water balloon painting in the swimming pool! I included lots of photos and tips for making it successful as well as a few ideas for variations (some don’t even involve a swimming pool)!
And poke around Let’s Lasso the Moon while you’re there…
By the way, Zina is the lovely lady who has been designing my new graphics—the header and logo and such. She’s a woman of many talents.
