Child Playing with Paper Dolls

When Faber-Castell asked us to test their new World Colors skin tone pencils, I had a lot of fun coming up with ideas and printables to use with them. Last week, I shared a Draw the Faces printable and this week I’m sharing Printable Paper Dolls that kids can color and design themselves before cutting them out and playing with them.

Daphne created paper dolls with a range of ethnicities and clothing styles using the World Colors colored pencils. Here’s a video showing her creating her paper dolls:

We’ve been really impressed with the World Colors pencils and the realistic and diverse skin tones that you can achieve. Great news if you want natural skin colors on your paper dolls, drawings, artworks, or you’re drawing people with skin tones like your own and yours is not exactly “peach” or “brown.”

You can download the FREE printable paper dolls with the link below—it’s a set of one boy and one girl.

Each paper doll comes with two outfits to design and color.

Note: I encourage you to print your paper dolls out onto card stock or another sturdy paper to make your paper dolls sturdier and easier to play with. If you don’t have card stock, you can cut down a piece of sturdy art paper to fit your printer.

How do the World Colors compare to other colored pencils?

You can see a comparison we did of Faber-Castell World Colors skin tone colored pencils and another brand’s multicultural pencils on the Faber-Castell blog, Creativity Connection. The kids and I tried two brands out side by side and did a review and a video comparison.

Are you wondering where to buy World Colors?
